Saint Alphonsus Asks Only Eligible Idahoans Make Vaccine Appointments

The overwhelming enthusiasm to the Saint Alphonsus COVID-19 weekend vaccine clinics for those people who met the criteria under the Governor’s announcement last week resulted in more than 2,500 Idahoans receiving their vaccinations. Only those individuals in the approved category of the state’s vaccination rollout plan (Phases 1 and 2.1) can receive a vaccine. If you are in the approved category of frontline essential workers, you can schedule online at www.saintalphonsus.org/getvaccinated.

In order to ensure adherence to the Governor’s updated eligibility standards, individuals who present to our vaccine clinics with a scheduled appointment must show proof of eligibility and employment in one of the approved groups. Proof of employment includes a recent pay stub, business card, or employee ID. Patients are also required to bring their driver’s license or legal ID and medical insurance card. Any individuals who are not in the approved eligibility category will be turned away.

Per the State of Idaho guidelines, individuals who fall in the frontline essential worker approved list at this time include: First responders (firefighters/police), pre-kindergarten through 12th grade teachers and staff, daycare (childcare) workers, and correctional and detention facility staff not already included as healthcare personnel. Additionally, healthcare workers who are in the state’s Phase 1 category, including Long Term Care employees, dentists, and emergency personnel, can go online to schedule their vaccines.

Approximately 1,500 appointments per day will be available seven days a week through early February at Saint Alphonsus hospitals and clinics. Due to the overwhelming demand, online scheduling for Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise and Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Nampa will not be available until the afternoon of Monday, January 18.

Appointments at numerous Saint Alphonsus Medical Group clinics throughout the Treasure Valley can be made online at this time. All Appointments are subject to vaccine availability.

We also want to recognize the work that other providers such as Primary Health, St. Luke’s, and Saltzer Health are doing to ensure our community has access to COVID-19 vaccines.
