Patients Without COVID-19 Symptoms Are Being Asked Not to Seek Tests in Emergency Rooms
September 8, 2021Tags: Year 2021
As more events, companies or organizations require proof of a negative COVID-19 test for admission, participation or for travel, Saint Alphonsus Health System is advising Idaho and Oregon residents that testing of people without COVID symptoms is not available at the health system’s six Emergency Departments.
Asymptomatic patients who present to the ED’s with emergency medical needs will be seen, but due to the volume of patients during the current COVID-19 surge, the emergency departments in Boise, Nampa, Eagle, Ontario and Baker City are unable to administer tests to patients not displaying COVID symptoms.
Symptomatic patients seeking COVID-19 tests are advised to visit www.saintalphonsus.org or call (208) 367-DOCS for medical evaluation and testing options. Asymptomatic patients needing COVID-19 tests for international travel can contact the Saint Alphonsus Center for Global Health and Healing at (208) 302-5200.
