Welcome to the Medical Staff Office!

Saint Alphonsus Health System, like other health care organizations, is legally responsible for knowing medical and allied health providers are qualified and competent to provide patient care within our facilities. This process is known as credentialing, and it typically encompasses two separate processes: credentialing and privileging.

• Credentialing: Primary source verification of a health care practitioner’s education, training, work experience, license, etc.
• Privileging: The appropriate Governing Board approves an individual to perform a specific procedure or specific set of procedures based on competence in the specialty in which privileges are requested.

The Saint Alphonsus Medical Staff Office is here to serve our Physicians and Advanced Practice Professional Staff at Saint Alphonsus and we can assist with the following:

• Privilege credentialing and re-credentialing of Physicians and Advanced Practice Professionals.
• Maintaining physician information data banks, that included information such as education training, experience, certifications, and licensure.
• Reviewing and implementing various federal rulings and accrediting body standards pertaining to the functions of the medical and/or provider staff.
• Facilitating meetings and communication between physicians, both within and outside their specialties, as well as with hospital administration.
• Assisting the medical staff in developing, establishing, and enforcing bylaws, rules and regulations, and policies.

Our team also works closely with the Trinity Health Credentialing Verification Office (CVO).

• Saint Alphonsus Medical Center Nampa
• Saint Alphonsus Medical Center Ontario
• Saint Alphonsus Medical Center Baker City
