Questions & Answers
What is the Live Your Whole Life (LYWL) program?
The Live Your Whole Life Program is to support the ability to care for ourselves, our families, and our patients. By caring for ourselves physically, mentally, and spiritually, we can be our best while we are at work and in other areas of our lives.
As an organization, we are directed to be stewards of our resources. One of our most important resources is our health. To ensure high quality patient care, hospital staff members must stay healthy, energetic and engaged. We believe that better health results in better healthcare.
In addition, there is an associated incentive program. Trinity Health rewards you with a lower health insurance premium incentive if you are on the Aetna Health insurance plan and decide to engage in the program.

Who manages the Live Your Whole Life (LYWL) Wellness and Incentive Program?
Trinity Health manages the LYWL program. They have contracted with a wellness portal, Virgin Pulse, to provide you with a high-tech, high-touch program.
What does the Corporate Health and Wellness (CHW) Department at Saint Alphonsus do?
The Corporate Health and Wellness Department is local to Saint Alphonsus and based in Boise. This department is able to offer approved content (webinars, workshops, health coaching, onsite biometric health screenings, and more) as part of the incentive program.
The CHW Department provides additional non-incentivized wellness support (additional workshops, blog articles, free meditations, and more).
This department also offers support on the LYWL program as we are always in touch with Trinity and try to be here to support your health journey in or outside of the incentive.

What is the incentive?
The incentive is $15/eligible adult/paycheck (for lower health insurance premiums) for Trinity Health and Saint Alphonsus employees. This is done because we, as an organization, believe that better health results in better healthcare.
How are updates and program details communicated?
Trinity Health sends emails as needed. You have the option to opt in or out of emails and other reminders from the wellness portal.
The Corporate Health and Wellness Department communicates updates through intranet banners, What's Trending content, and Daily Announcements. Occasionally flyers or napkin holders may be utilized. We highly recommend checking the CHW Department website at least once per quarter to stay apprised of additional details, vouchers, and support: www.saintalphonsus.org/employee-wellness-program/.
Who is eligible for the program?
In short, all colleagues and partners covered under the health plan.
All employees of Saint Alphonsus and Trinity Health can take advantage of the Live Your Whole Life Program. STARS, volunteers, and other outside entities working with Saint Alphonsus are not eligible for the program.
Only those on the Aetna Health Insurance Plan have the ability to achieve the incentive (maintain lower per pay cost for medical insurance).
Covered spouses/partners are also eligible to maintain the lower per pay cost for medical insurance through the Live Your Whole Life Program.
What if I do not want to participate?
Participation is not required. A colleague or benefitted partner can choose not to participate; however, they will not maintain their $15 per person health insurance premium reduction.
Do covered partners have to participate in the program?
A covered partner can choose not to participate in the program. The incentives are assessed independently. By choosing not to participate, the partner will not maintain their $15/paycheck incentive.
Example: There are up to two eligible adults on the incentivized health plan. They have two individual $15 incentives per pay check for a total of $30 per paycheck. If the eligible colleague achieves 5,000 points in quarter 1, but their covered partner does not, the colleague will maintain their $15 of the $30 possible per paycheck.
What do partners need to do to maintain their health insurance incentive?
Both colleagues and partners have the same requirements to maintain their individual health insurance incentives. This includes creating a separate wellness portal account and achieving a separate 5,000 points per quarter. These incentives are assessed independently.
Do dependents need to do anything in the program?
Dependents covered on the health plan do not need to participate in the LYWL program.
What if I am newly enrolled in the health plan?
Anyone with a medical benefit starting after January 1st is grandfathered in for their first year of employment and will automatically maintain the lower per pay cost of medical coverage for the whole year. During the second year of coverage, the colleague can maintain their lower health insurance premium through participation of the Live Your Whole Life Program.
How many points are required to maintain the benefit?
During quarters 1-3 (January-September), the achievement of 5,000 points (Level 4) is required to maintain the incentivized health insurance premium.
Do points roll over from quarter to quarter?
No, points do not roll over quarter to quarter.
I have no wellness on my check, what can I do?
The incentive is adjusted in January, May, August, and November. All colleagues are gifted with the incentive from January-April. If you did not reach 5,000 points in the wellness portal by the end of a quarter, you have the ability to earn it back for the next quarter.
For example, if you do not reach 5,000 points January-March (Quarter 1), you will receive no wellness on your check and lose the $15/person per paycheck. If you reach 5,000 points from April-June (Quarter 2), your incentive will be adjusted in August and you will gain back your incentive for that quarter.
