Financial Support Summary
What if I don't have health insurance or have only limited insurance?
If you do not have health insurance coverage or resources to pay your bill in full, contact Patient Financial Services at that hospital you were seen to discuss your situation. We can help any patient obtain necessary hospital services in a respectful and efficient manner. We can provide assistance by:
- Establishing a low-interest loan
- Helping you qualify for one of several public assistance programs.
- Determining if you qualify for a full or partial discount off your hospital bill through the Financial Support policy.
Who is eligible for Financial Support?
All patients, regardless of race, creed, gender, age, or national origin, may apply for financial assistance from Saint Alphonsus either in advance of or after receiving covered services.
Eligibility is determined on an individual basis, taking into account factors such as household size, income, assets, and insurance status.
If you appear to be eligible for public assistance, staff can assist you in completing the public assistance application process before you can be considered.
What services qualify?
Financial support applies to all medically necessary patient services that are provided at our hospital including inpatient, outpatient and emergency services.
What services don't qualify?
Saint Alphonsus financial assistance is not available for the following services:
- Services that are not medically necessary, including cosmetic surgery
- Services to patients who qualify for county, state, federal or other assistance programs
- Services that a patient chooses to receive outside of their insurance network
- Services rendered by physicians and other healthcare providers
How will I know if I qualify?
In order to determine your eligibility, you will be asked to complete a Financial Assistance Application and provide certain supporting information to verify your household income and net assets. You will receive written or telephone contact from a SAHS representative notifying you of decisions resulting from your application.
What are the patient obligations when receiving Financial Support?
