Saint Alphonsus Phone Number 'Spoofed', Scammers Using Number to Represent National Companies

The Saint Alphonsus phone number (208) 367-BABY (2229) was "spoofed" by scammers starting the morning of January 29, 2015. The scammers are using the phone number to call individuals across the country to request personal and financial information.

The "spoofers" are not representing themselves as employees or affiliated with Saint Alphonsus, but are falsely representing various national businesses and organizations. (208) 367-BABY (2229), which is only used as an inbound phone line by Saint Alphonsus, is being used by the scammers as the number that displays in the recipients Caller ID. Police and Saint Alphonsus IT/Telecommunications have been notified, and Saint Alphonsus is warning the public to avoid any release of personal information should they receive a call from the number.
