Nampa, ID – Saint Alphonsus Medical Center – Nampa welcomes the 40-member emergency medicine group Idaho Emergency Physicians (IEP) as the new physician providers staffing the Emergency Department. IEP has been serving residents of Ada County since 1986 at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho.
“As we continue to improve upon our quality indicators, we are thrilled to now have IEP providing high quality emergency care for Canyon County residents,” said Karl Keeler, Saint Alphonsus Medical Center – Nampa CEO. “IEP has a long history of serving our most critically ill and injured patients at the Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center/Trauma Center and at other hospitals throughout Idaho. Utilizing one emergency group between Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center/Trauma Center and our local Emergency Department will improve the continuity of care as standardized protocols are implemented across the Saint Alphonsus Health System."
IEP expertise played a key role in supporting Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in the recertification of the Trauma Service in 2010, the recertification of Idaho’s only Joint Commission Accredited Advanced Primary Stroke Center in 2010, and in the Chest Pain Center Accreditation received November 30. IEP also provides physician staffing at the free-standing Emergency Room in Eagle.
“The main goals of the partnership between IEP and Saint Alphonsus – Nampa are to improve emergency specialty care for residents of Canyon County, and to provide that care directly in Nampa,” said Po Huang, MD, Medical Director of Saint Alphonsus Medical Center - Nampa’s ER. “We are very pleased to also welcome four new members to our group who have a long history of providing emergency medicine to Nampa residents: Luke Morris, DO; Mark Thomas, MD; Jill Vessey, MD; and Darin Lee, MD.”
Additionally CEO Karl Keeler said “The reputation and quality outcomes associated with Saint Alphonsus – Boise Accredited programs that have been made possible by IEP physicians will now be available to patients and physicians at Nampa. As we prepare to adopt the Electronic Health Record system it will be a great benefit to be supported by these physicians who are already well-versed in utilizing that state-of-the-art information technology.”
