Saint Alphonsus Baker City Top 100 Critical Access Hospital 3rd year in a row!
One of only 2 hospitals in Oregon to earn designation
Baker City, OR. (February 12, 2019) For the third year in a row Saint Alphonsus Medical Center – Baker City has been recognized as one of the Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals in the United States by iVantage Health Analytics and The Chartis Group Center for Rural Health. The following from iVantage's website explains how facilities earn this recognition and why it is so significant:
"Each year, rural hospitals are analyzed through the lens of the Hospital Strength INDEX, the industry’s most comprehensive and objective assessment of rural hospital performance in the United States. Amidst uncertainty, transition and strain, these top performers are excelling in managing risk, achieving higher quality, securing better outcomes, increasing patient satisfaction, and operating at a lower cost than their peers. These groups serve as a benchmark for other rural facilities as they strive to achieve similar results and provide a blueprint for successfully navigating the uncertainty of the new healthcare."
There are over 1,300 critical access hospitals in the United States, which means our facility continues to perform in the top 7% of similar hospitals throughout the country.
Priscilla Lynn, Saint Alphonsus Baker City Interim President & CNO states, "We are humbled and grateful to receive this recognition—it is a testament to the hard work of our dedicated colleagues, clinicians and providers serving to fulfill the mission of our organization: To serve together in the spirit of the Gospel as a compassionate and transforming healing presence within our communities."
Congratulations on this wonderful achievement, Top 100 Critical Access Hospital 2017, 2018 & 2019!
Kent Bailey, Saint Alphonsus Board Chair adds, "We are elated to learn for the third year in a row Saint Alphonsus Baker City is being recognized as a top 100 hospital by iVantage Health Analytics and The Chartis Group Center for Rural Health.
