Saint Alphonsus Health System is proud to be named one of the Top 15 Health Systems in the country by IBM Watson Health. The study analyzes system metrics from publicly-available clinical, operational and patient perception of care data at more than 300 health systems across the country. Key performance measures in the report include inpatient and extended care quality, operational efficiency, financial health and patient experience.
A Level II Trauma Center designation validates that a hospital is fully equipped and prepared to provide care for patients with major traumatic injuries. Trauma Centers have dedicated physicians, staff and resources to provide specialist medical and nursing care including emergency medicine, trauma surgery, critical care, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, vascular surgery, anesthesiology, and radiology. The designation is verified by the Committee on Trauma of the American College of Surgeons.
To achieve this certification, an organization must comply with national standards in quality, demonstrate consistent use of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines for hip and knee replacement procedures, and must meet national standards in collection and analysis of performance measures specific to this population. Saint Alphonsus received a two year certification as a Center of Distinction for hip and knee replacement by the Joint Commission.
