Nat’e Guyton, DM, RN, MSN, CPHIMS, NE-BC has been appointed President of Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC), the largest medical center in the Saint Alphonsus Health System.
“Nat’e is a dynamic, innovative, and creative leader who brings more than 25 years of healthcare experience to this important leadership role in our community,” said Dave McFadyen, President and CEO of Trinity Health West Region. “She is a champion for non-profit, faith-based healthcare with a focus on creating high-performing organizations.”
Prior to joining Saint Alphonsus, Guyton successfully navigated healthcare markets across the country, most recently serving as the Chief Operating Officer at CommonSpirit Health-California Hospital Medical Center.
In that position, she played a pivotal leadership role in finalizing the construction and obtaining certificate of occupancy for the 145,000 square feet, $243 million patient care tower dedicated to Women’s Services, Emergency Services, and Trauma Services.
“I am passionate about being an advocate for community-based healthcare and health equity, and building relationships inside the organization to make that happen,” Guyton said.
For Guyton, her commitment to providing compassionate care to the community is very personal.
“My grandmother raised me while serving as a unit clerk in Philadelphia,” Guyton said. “She filled that important role for 46 years. I watched up close her dedication to both her family and the patients she served, and I carry that spirit close to me today.”
Her previous roles represent her diverse background and commitment to faith-based health care systems, including serving as Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer for University of Maryland Medical System; Chief Nurse Officer for Spok Inc.; Chief Operations Officer for Society of Hospital Medicine; and Chief Clinical Informatics Officer at Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic Region-Mercy Health System.
Guyton holds a Doctor in Management with a concentration in organization development from the University of Phoenix, a Master of Science in Nursing Education, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Widener University. She also earned a Post Master’s certificate in Healthcare Administration from Villanova University and a Post Master’s certificate in Healthcare Informatics from Drexel University.
Guyton and her husband, Sean, have been married for more than 20 years, and have two sons. The entire family are avid football fans who have long cheered for the Boise State Broncos from afar, and are looking forward to supporting the Broncos in person.
Guyton’s official start date with Saint Alphonsus was January 27.
