Boise, ID - U.S. News & World Report today released its annual Best Hospitals rankings. Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise is ranked #1 in Idaho and once again ranked the #1 Best Hospital in Boise. The report included an analysis of 12 hospitals in the Treasure Valley. In addition to the #1 hospital ranking, Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center received high-performing marks in four specialties: Gynecology, Orthopedics, Pulmonology, and Urology.
“We are so pleased to have U.S. News & World Report once again validate the superior quality healthcare all our patients have come to count on and appreciate,” said Sally Jeffcoat, Saint Alphonsus Health System’s president, and CEO. “We are very proud of the dedication and commitment of all Saint Alphonsus associates and medical staff providers in making this distinction possible three years in a row.”
“To be ranked #1 in Idaho and named one of the best hospitals in the Boise metropolitan area is an outstanding achievement,” said Steven Brown, MD, Saint Alphonsus Health System’s chief medical officer. “This is a testament not only to the physician expertise at Saint Alphonsus, but also the comprehensive system of caring that is focused on always providing our patients with exceptional experiences.”
This year’s Best Hospitals, the 24th annual edition, showcases more than 700 of the nation’s roughly 5,000 hospitals. Fewer than 150 are nationally ranked in at least one of 16 medical specialties. In addition, U.S. News covered 94 metro areas in the U.S. to provide regional hospital rankings to complement the national rankings. These regional rankings include hospitals with solid performance at the level of nationally ranked institutions.
“A hospital that emerges from our analysis as one of the best has much to be proud of,” said Avery Comarow, U.S. News Health Rankings Editor. “Only about 15 percent of hospitals are recognized for their high performance as among their region’s best. Just 3 percent of all hospitals earn a national ranking in any specialty.”
