Trinity Health announced today that Chief Executive Officer of the West Region and President of Saint Alphonsus Health System, Odette C. Bolano, FACHE, MHA, BSN, will retire in June 2024.

Ms. Bolano served as the first CEO of Trinity Health’s West Region uniting Saint Alphonsus Health System in Idaho and Oregon with Saint Agnes Medical Center in California. Additionally, she has served for the past eight years in executive leadership for Saint Alphonsus Health System in Idaho and Oregon, with the last five years as president & CEO.

“Odette leaves a lasting mark on the communities served by Saint Alphonsus and Saint Agnes, and our national health system. Her passion and commitment to high-quality, safe care has been nationally recognized and truly embodies our Mission. I know all of Trinity Health shares my heartfelt appreciation for all Odette has accomplished,” said Ben Carter, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Trinity Health.

Bolano joined Trinity Health in 2016. Under her leadership, Saint Alphonsus Health System was named as one of the country’s Top 15 Health Systems by IBM Watson and recognized by U.S. News & World Report. She also oversaw the opening of Idaho’s first advanced Neuro, Surgical, Trauma Intensive Care Unit in 2023.

An active civic and community leader, she serves as Chair-elect of the Idaho Hospital Association, Chair of Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce and Boise State University Foundation to name a few. Also, as a fierce champion of elevating women, she is an active member of the Carol Emmott Fellowship Board, a national organization committed to mentoring exceptional healthcare women leaders to achieve their highest potential and influence as leaders in healthcare. She also serves on the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) Foundation and as a Board Member of Idaho Power/IDACORP.

Bolano has been extensively recognized on a local and national level with recognitions from Modern Healthcare as one of the nation’s most influential 50 Clinical Executives in Healthcare, twice as a Top 25 Women Healthcare Executives and most recently as a Top 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare. The Idaho Business Review named her Woman of the Year in 2021.

A search will begin in January 2024 for Trinity Health’s West Region CEO and President of Saint Alphonsus Health System.
