Mobile Mammogram Unit to Provide Life-Saving Screenings
Women can receive life-saving mammograms and breast health exams at the Western Idaho Fair, thanks to the Saint Alphonsus Breast Care Center’s Mobile Mammography Unit.
The 40-foot Mobile Health Screening Coach will be located near the main entrance to the Fair, and will be staffed from noon to 7:00 pm every day of the fair. Only about 30 percent of women in Idaho who need mammograms get this critical screening, and Saint Alphonsus is encouraging women who may be putting off breast exams to get this life-saving procedure done at the Fair.
Screenings and mammograms are covered by most insurance plans; women without health insurance will not be turned away for inability to pay. All women visiting the mobile unit must bring their photo ID and if they have one, their insurance card. No appointments are needed to receive screenings.
Saint Alphonsus is also proud to sponsor the Fair’s first-ever Pink Out Concert, featuring country music star Dustin Lynch. The concert is free to Fair ticket holders, and is scheduled for 7:30 pm, Thursday, August 22.
Wear pink to show your support and celebrate breast cancer survivors. Hats, shirts, bandanas – more pink the better to Pink Out the DISH Grandstand. The Western Idaho Fair starts on Friday, August 16 and runs through Sunday, August 25.
