Testing Moving Indoors for the Winter

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is relocating its COVID-19 testing site from the Garrity Clinic near Interstate 84 to 12th Avenue Road, adjacent to the free-standing Saint Alphonsus Emergency Department and clinic. The new location will open on Monday, November 9.

“With winter approaching, we decided to move COVID-19 testing indoors,” said Dr. Mark Nassir, Saint Alphonsus Medical Group President. “The weather will make it difficult and uncomfortable for patients and our colleagues to continue with in-car testing. To allow us to safely continue to test patients, we are relocating to the 12th Avenue location, where we can use the entire building.”

There is not sufficient space at the Garrity clinic to safely provide both urgent care and family medicine appointments as well as separate patients receiving COVID testing. The Garrity COVID-19 testing site will be closed Friday, and all COVID-19 tests on Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be conducted at the Meridian Health Plaza drive-up location, at 3025 W. Cherry Lane.

Signage at the Garrity Clinic will inform and direct patients to the new location.

The new indoor COVID-19 testing location will be in a free-standing Saint Alphonsus building at 1524 12th Avenue Road in Nampa. It’s located just south of the Saint Alphonsus Emergency facility at the intersection of 12th Avenue and Constitution Way. Appointments are requested, but the clinic will accommodate drop-in patients requiring tests. Walk-in availability may be limited due to testing volumes.

To make an appointment, visit www.saintalphonsus.org/coronavirus/test-scheduling or if you have questions about possible symptoms call the Saint Alphonsus COVID-19 Hotline at (208) 302-2683.

Also starting on Monday, November 9, Saint Alphonsus will transition its Meridian Health Plaza COVID-19 testing indoors, to protect patients and colleagues from the weather. There will be no disruption in testing due to the relocation. The health system is also exploring opening additional indoor testing sites in the Treasure Valley in the future.
