Becker’s Hospital Review Highlights Outstanding Women Executives

BOISE, ID. (October 17, 2013) -- Becker’s Hospital Review has named Saint Alphonsus Health System President and CEO Sally Jeffcoat to its “130 Women Hospital and Health System Leaders to know” list for 2013. The honor recognizes women executives who demonstrate outstanding leadership within the hospital and healthcare industry.

According to Becker’s Hospital Review, the130 honorees were chosen “based on a wide range of management and leadership skills, including oversight of hospital or health system operations, financial turnarounds and quality improvement initiatives” during times of unprecedented change within the healthcare sector.

A trained nurse, Sally has held executive positions in a number of healthcare organizations including Hospital Corporation of America, Inc. in Nashville, Tennessee; Christus Health in Houston, Texas; Carondelet Health Network in Tucson, Arizona; and Ascension Health in St. Louis. She became President and CEO of Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in 2009. In 2010 she was named President and CEO of the Saint Alphonsus Health System, where she led the integration of four hospitals: Saint Alphonsus Medical Centers in Boise, Idaho; Nampa, Idaho, Ontario, Oregon; and Baker City, Oregon. In 2012 she launched the Saint Alphonsus Health Alliance, a physician-led, clinically integrated network of independent and employed physicians.

Under her leadership Saint Alphonsus has been ranked the best hospital in Boise Metropolitan area By US News and World Report, received the Women’s Health Excellence Award for women’s health services, and was ranked number one in Idaho for overall cardiac services, neurosciences, neurosurgery and treatment of strokes by HealthGrades.
