Fully equipped Stereotaxis Truck on display in Boise, Eagle & Nampa with demonstrations on how cutting-edge technology saves lives
Boise, Idaho – Saint Alphonsus Health System announced the latest life saving technology available to treat patients with arrhythmias – irregular heartbeats. The Stereotaxis Remote Magnetic Navigation System allows physicians to treat any cardiac arrhythmia with a great degree of safety, precision, and efficiency. The Stereotaxis System has been proven to deliver enhanced clinical outcomes.
“This is a quantum leap forward for patients of the Treasure Valley with complex arrhythmias,” said Dr. Rakesh K. Pai, MD, FACC, Medical Director of the Atrial Fibrillation Ablation Program at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. “Traditionally, cardiac ablations are performed manually by manipulating a stiff catheter. Stereotaxis allows me to direct a soft catheter with a tremendous level of precision, and access areas of the heart that can be challenging to reach with traditional manual techniques. This significantly reduces the risk of complications. This also significantly increases the likelihood of a successful ablation outcome. A Stereotaxis assisted procedure results in a significant reduction in the patient’s exposure to radiation. This is another tangible example of the Saint Alphonsus commitment to patient safety and excellent patient outcomes.”
Patients, their families and physicians will be able to see up close how the process works with the arrival of a state-of-the-art Stereotaxis Mobile Cardiac Education Center.
Dr. Rakesh K. Pai, Idaho’s only fellowship trained Atrial Fibrillation ablation Electrophysiologist, will be available to answer questions Thursday evening in Boise and Saturday in Eagle.
