Saint Alphonsus Health System General Counsel Receives Distinguished


ACC Outstanding Corporate Counsel Award for Leadership



Boise, Idaho – February 20, 2013 – Stephanie Westermeier, the General Counsel for Saint Alphonsus Health System received the 2013 Outstanding Corporate Counsel award from the Association of Corporate Counsel, Mountain West Chapter at its annual awards gala January 31, 2013. The award is presented to a corporate attorney who is recognized for significant leadership contributions and who demonstrates a commitment to professionalism. The Association of Corporate Counsel is a global bar association that promotes the common professional and business interests of in-house counsel who work for corporations, associations and other private sector organizations.


Westermeier is General Counsel for Saint Alphonsus Health System, Inc., a four-hospital health system composed of Idaho and Oregon hospitals, which is affiliated with Trinity Health, Inc. In addition, Stephanie serves as a Managing Counsel for Trinity Health in Idaho, Oregon and California. Westermeier has practiced law for twenty years in both private practice and in-house roles, primarily focusing on health care law, corporate governance, compliance and employment law issues.



Westermeier was admitted to the Idaho State Bar and the United States District Court for the District of Idaho in 1991, and to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in 1995. She received her J.D. from the University of Utah in 1991, where she was a William H. Leary Scholar and a legal writing T.A.



She received her B.A. from Boise State University in 1987, cum laude. At BSU, she was an Avery Petersen International Relations Scholar, and recipient of the LBJ Congressional Scholarship Internship in Washington, D.C.
