Proven Local Healthcare Leader to Begin Role on July 20

David McFadyen, MBA, FACHE has been named President of Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC) in Boise. Saint Alphonsus Health System President and CEO Odette Bolano announced his appointment today.

McFadyen comes to Saint Alphonsus after serving as Vice President, Population Health for St. Luke’s Health System in Boise. He joined St. Luke’s in 2011, serving first as Vice President of Operations, and then as Boise Hospital Administrator. Prior to his experience at St. Luke’s, McFadyen worked at West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell, including nearly six years as Vice President of Operations.

“David’s scope and depth of operational, clinical, and strategic experience make him the ideal choice for leading SARMC,” said Odette Bolano. “In addition to his operational and strategic strengths, he brings a successful track record working in partnership with medical staff and leadership teams to achieve top-quality ratings such as Leap Frog, Top 100 Hospital, and Magnet designation. I look forward to David’s leadership in advancing high-quality care at SARMC and across our entire system.”

McFadyen will be responsible for the executive leadership, financial, operational, and strategic direction for SARMC, the region’s only Level II Trauma Center. He will be responsible for the creation of regional strategies that address community needs and champion physician alignment strategies with Saint Alphonsus and regional affiliations. He will lead the SARMC senior leadership team to facilitate the development and implementation of integrated service delivery platforms at SARMC and ensure integration and alignment within the region.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management from Boise State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Northwest Nazarene University. McFadyen and his wife have two children, and he enjoys mountain biking, golf, backpacking, and traveling.

He replaces Andrew Cosentino, who retired at the end of April. McFadyen assumes his new position at Saint Alphonsus on July 20th.
