New Role Will Support Mission and Growth of Saint Alphonsus Neurosciences Programs

Claire Jones, RN, MSN, has been named Regional Neurosciences Service Line Director for the Saint Alphonsus Health System. In her new role, Jones will partner with physicians and health system leadership to develop and execute strategies to support the organization’s mission and growth of the Neuroscience program.

Jones joined the Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center nursing team in 2011, and she served as the Nurse Manager for ICU and CICU from 2012-17. Most recently, she has been Director of Critical Care, supporting daily operations of the hospital’s critical care units as well as expanding critical care capacity at SARMC.

In announcing the move, Tiffany Whitmore, Vice President of Strategic Planning and Development for Saint Alphonsus Health System said, “Claire is very dedicated and passionate about the practice of professional nursing and her commitment to patient care excellence is unwavering. We are fortunate to have Claire’s extensive experience and clinical expertise in leading the Neurosciences Service Line.”

Jones received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of San Francisco and earned her Master’s in Nursing Administration with a minor in Critical Care Nursing from University of California, San Francisco. She has 32 years’ experience in critical care nursing; 20 in cardiac and 12 in neurology, radiology and trauma-focused care. She began her nursing career as an Assistant Manager at the UCSF Medical Center, before working at two other California hospitals, Dominican in Santa Cruz and Good Samaritan in San Jose, ultimately moving Boise to join Saint Alphonsus.
