Dr. Sheila Giffen, Dani Jones Assume New Roles

Dr. Sheila GiffenDr. Sheila Giffen has been named Medical Director, and Danielle G. (Dani) Jones Director of Operations for the Saint Alphonsus Health Alliance. The announcements were made by Dr. John Redding, President of the Alliance.

Dr. Giffen, who joined Saint Alphonsus as a Board Certified Primary Care Physician in 2005, transitioned to the Alliance from her role as Medical Director for Saint Alphonsus Corporate Wellness Department. Jones comes to Saint Alphonsus from the Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, where she served as Executive Director of the Portneuf Quality Alliance (PQA).

A Twin Falls, Idaho, native, Dr. Giffen received her B.A. in Human Biology from Stanford University. She earned her medical degree from the University of Washington Medical School as a WAMI student and a National Health Service Corps Scholar. She completed her Family Practice Residency at the Family Medicine Residency of Idaho in 2001 and practiced in rural Ontario and Idaho at Valley Family Health Care for two years before joining Saint Alphonsus Medical Group.

While serving as Medical Director for Saint Alphonsus Corporate Wellness, Dr. Giffen led work that was on the cutting edge of preventative medicine and population health management. She has also served as Chair of the Saint Alphonsus Health Alliance Board.

JDani Jonesones has focused her career in healthcare and population health management. While serving as Executive Director of PQA, she increased participation to over 1,000 providers across the continuum of care, negotiated nine value-based arrangements, grew the number of managed lives to over 30,000, expanded the PQA’s service area from one to eight counties, and helped the network realize nearly $5 million in shared savings. Dani’s professional experience also includes seven years at Blue Cross of Idaho, where she worked in managed care in both the Medical Quality Management and Provider Services departments.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Boise State University and a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Idaho State University.
