Before starting work at Saint Alphonsus, you need to complete a variety of important action items to ensure a smooth onboarding process. Use this page to guide you each step of the way.

 New Hire Mandatory Processes


The following steps must be completed before you will be able to being work.

Throughout the pre-employment process, most of our communication will come through email. Please watch for multiple emails between now and your scheduled start date. Be sure to check your spam/junk folder if you don’t see an email within the timeline below.

Saint Alphonsus is a member of Trinity Health. Some of the emails and communication you receive may come from Trinity Health.

Our communication timeline is as follows: 
New Hire Timeline

  • This step will be completed through Sterling.
  • Watch for an email from noreply@sterling.app and follow the instructions. This process may take multiple weeks, so it is important to fill out the information as soon as possible. For asisstance with Sterling, contact their customer support at: 1-833-780-7902 ext. 2003 or at CandidateSupport_Tier1B@sterlingcheck.com
    • After you enter your information into Sterling, the report can be processed while other pieces of the pre-employment process are being completed
  • It is important to fill out the Employment Verification portion as accurately as possible. Please do not include any unpaid/volunteer opportunities, or employment outside of the United States, as Sterling will not be able to verify it. Sterling may email you directly to request additional documentation or contact information if they are unable to complete the verification
  • You will receive an email with a unique link to view and sign your offer letter.
  • All 3 tasks (Offer letter, SSN, Personal Information) must be fully completed before we will be able to proceed

  • This step will be completed in Equifax
  • You will need to follow the two-step process to complete your I-9 Verification:

  • If you have specific questions regarding the completion of your I-9, please contact Workforce Solutions Support at 877-664-8778 or workforcesolutions@equifax.com
  • This step will be completed in Workday (Employee)
  • You must be hired into the Workday system before you will be able to complete this step. You will receive new login information once your employee account has been created
  • First, you’ll need to activate your account. You will receive two (2) automated emails from Trinity Health with your username and temporary password. This may take up to five (5) business days after you sign your offer letter
  • Once you login, please complete all the onboarding tasks available to you
    • Please note that as you complete certain tasks, more tasks may appear

  • Your Employee Health Appointment is an assessment that includes a review of the functional requirements of the position, a urine drug screen, and a blood draw = all provided at no cost to you
  • You are responsible to schedule your Employee Health Appointment using THIS LINK
    • Your appointment must be completed at least 5 business days before your start date
    • You can schedule at whichever location works best for you (does not need to be your work location)
    • Appointments last approximately 2 hours
    • If you are unable to attend your appointment, you will need to reschedule online at least 8 hours before your scheduled appointment
  • You will need to bring to your appointment:
    • Immunization records
    • Valid government-issued photo ID

  • If your position requires specific education, licensure or certification, we will reach out to you via email to request proof
  • Please monitor your email and respond quickly to any request that is sent
  • If your position requires BLS/HCP certification (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers) and you do not yet possess one, follow THIS LINK to view a list of approved providers
  • As you complete these mandatory pre-hire processes, you can rest assured we are doing everything on our end to get you started on schedule
  • You will receive an email (1-3 business days before your start date) notifying you that you are approved to start work
  • This email will include your orientation schedule. Please carefully review your orientation schedule.
    • The first 1-2 days of orientation may be completed online using your own computer at home or you may be required to report to your department on your first day of work. This will depend on your position and your department. If you do not have a computer, please notify your Talent Acquisition Coordinator so other arrangements can be made.
  • If for any reason you are not cleared to start before the deadline, we will notify you via email and let you know next steps

 Vaccine Requirements for All Team Members

  • Vaccine requirements include
    • Varicella (chicken pox) - documentation of 2 doses of the vaccine or lab documented proof of immunity
    • COVID – documentation of current “updated” vaccination or declination
    • Influenza (Flu) – proof of vaccination from current season (Aug – May) or declination
    • Mumps, Measles & Rubella (MMR) - documentation of 2 doses of the vaccine or lab documented proof of immunity
    • Pertussis - documentation of Tdap vaccine
    • Hepatitis B (for jobs prone to exposure to blood) - documentation of 3 dose series or lab documented proof of immunity
  • Please let your Talent Acquisition Partner know ASAP if you would like to request a medical or religious exemption. They will provide you with an exemption request form for you to complete & submit to the appropriate committee for review. Note that the TA Partners will not be reviewing any exemption requests
  • Meeting the immunization requirements is a condition of employment. Candidates may not join Saint Alphonsus Health System until the requirements have been met
  • If you would like to request a medical or religious exemption (Idaho) or declination (Oregon) for any other vaccinations (MMR, Tdap, Hepatitis B, Varicella), please inform the Employee Health Nurse during your Onboarding appointment.
