Our OB/GYN Specialists

Whatever your stage of life or health concern, you can find the expert care and support you need from the women's healthcare providers at Saint Alphonsus. Our women's healthcare providers include: 

Obstetricians and Gynecologists (OB/GYN's) - Our staff of experienced, board-certified physicians provide a full range of women's health services, including annual exams, routine Pap tests, gynecologic problems, minimally invasive surgery, prenatal care, and delivery via natural childbirth or cesarean section.

Family Medicine/OB Physicians - At Saint Alphonsus we also have Family medicine physicians that provide obstetric care. They care for the whole family, including pregnant women and newborns. These family medicine providers offer complete, low risk obstetrical care, including prenatal visits, deliveries and postpartum care. When you choose a family medicine provider, you receive seamless care that combines maternity care with ongoing health needs.

Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs) - Certified nurse-midwives are registered nurses (RNs) with a Masters degree in women's health care. Our midwives are certified nurses in Idaho, write prescriptions and accept all types of insurances that covers our services. Midwives provide women's health care including routine gynecologic problems, annual exams and preventative services, low risk pregnancy, and natural childbirth. Midwives do not perform gynecologic surgery or cesarean section, and work together with our OB/GYN's if this is necessary. 

OB Hospitalists - Our OB hospitalists are physicians that are dedicated to hospital care. They are available 24/7 and may care for you during your labor if there is an emergency and your provider is not immediately available. They may also help if your provider needs an assistant for your delivery or cesarean section.

Maternal Fetal Medicine Providers - A maternal-fetal medicine specialist is a physician who helps take care of women having complicated or high-risk pregnancies. They have advanced knowledge and training in medical, surgical, obstetrical, fetal, and genetic complications of pregnancy that affect both the woman and the fetus. 

Neonatologist - A neonatologist provides comprehensive care for critically ill premature and full-term infants from birth until discharge from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
