Nutrition Saint Alphonsus

The Saint Alphonsus Nutrition Program focuses on the nutritional management of disease and conditions that can be better managed with improved body weight, food choices, eating habits, and physical activity. We believe that patient and family education is the key to helping patients manage specialized diets and improve their overall health and wellness. A Registered Dietitian can help with more than just weight loss.

You want to eat smarter.
A Registered Dietitian can help you sort through misinformation; learn how to read food labels, discover inexpensive healthy cooking, learn how to eat out without ruining your eating plan and how to resist workplace temptations.

Your child or teen has issues with food or eating healthfully.
A Registered Dietitian can help you feed your baby or teach your kids about a healthy diet and assist with issues like overweight or poor growth.

You have food allergies or intolerances.
A Registered Dietitian can help you identify where common food allergens are found, what to look for on food packaging and how to personalize your diet based on your specific needs.

You have pre-diabetes, cardiovascular problems or high blood pressure.
A Registered Dietitian serves as an integral part of your health care team by helping you safely change your eating plan without compromising taste or nutrition.

You have digestive problems.
A Registered Dietitian can help with a variety of issues related to digestion and GI issues. These include Chron's disease, IBS, post-colostomy placement nutrition, unexpected weight loss, and understanding difficult diets like FODMAPS.

You're pregnant or trying to get pregnant.
A Registered Dietitian can help you ensure you're getting adequate nutrient intake to encourage a healthy pregnancy. They can also help pregnant/expecting mothers understand appropriate weight gain and management of conditions that may occur with pregnancy.

You want to lose weight.
A Registered Dietitian can not only help you with a healthy eating and exercise plan to promote weight loss but also work with you to fine-tune different behaviors and daily habits so that the weight stays off for good.

You're caring for an aging parent.
A Registered Dietitian can help with changing taste buds as you age and a variety of nutrition topics that affect the aging population.

You are thinking of having or have had surgery.
Nutrition can play a big part in your recovery from surgery. Being well-nourished and healthy can help to promote healing and recovery, decrease days in the hospital, and lower the risk of complications. A Registered Dietitian will work with you and your physician to develop an eating plan for your new needs.
