Due to the fact that almost all healthcare people are very busy these days, it did take me about 1-2 months to be able to make an appointment with Yelena. I would also like to mention the other people that I dealt with including administrative people, and other nurses. I can say that I was treated very well by each person I dealt with.
I don't need anything but I need to change another Provider.

Listens and explains well
Because my other primary care doc retired I started services with Dr. Shuey. She was fantastic and understood my problems with systemic sclerosis. She was compassionate and understood my concerns.
My provider is probably the best informed, educated and most communicative and is of the best I've ever had which is why I continue to engage her in my health care. I'm also particularly selective regarding providers. I come from a family of physicians and nurses.
My PA Yelena Shuey is always smart and makes great eye contact. I found this a tough visit, but that was not her fault. The difficulty is that neither of us know why my [diagnosis] in six months. We have done all the tests to do and have an ultrasound scheduled that may help provide some information. I don't have high blood pressure or diabetes and those are the usual causes. I don't use NSAIDs because I am post [procedure]...... I guess I just won the lottery. I can't even get in to the nephrologist until Aug/Sept. But Yelena did her best to reassure me and that helped.
I believe that *Yelena Shuey is one of the best diagnosticians I've seen in a very long time. She is knowledgeable and caring. Her staff work together well and in a timely manner.

She seemed to just wanted to keep referring me out to specialists vs helping me with an issue.
Once again, no issues with the provider.. Just a big issue with the rest of the process and how slow things are. I realize that staffing is a big issues nowadays but when you have a central online system in place, there should be dedicated staff who are able to get to the questions asked and respond within a certain window of time (24 hrs max). I also did not appreciate the fact that someone in the office found time to call me and tell how I shouldn't be posting my question in the system and calling in with the same question. I felt that was completely out of place when I don't hear back from them through the system or call back. St. Alps, please get your act together.. Major hospitals have been operating this way for years now and when it works, it's awesome!Appreciate you taking the time to read this honest note from my recent experience.

Face to face visit was required for an MRI to be approved. I have an Adrenal nodule that should be watched yearly. We met and decided to do labs. When the labs were resulted my Thyroid tests were outside of normal range. I waited for days for a call from provider to discuss what we need to do. NO CALL FROM CLINIC. I received call from pharmacy to pick up new prescription. The dose had been adjusted. I was dissappointed no one from the clinic reached out. Also, Insurance Is denying MRI. Not sure why. We did what they asked.
She is very professional and very helpful and friendly.

I haven't had good health care in 5 years, it's very refreshing to have someone that actually cares about you as a person and not see you as just another appointment.It took waiting for 3 months to get an appointment however it's that way all over Boise. I understand it's because of the high migration of people coming to Idaho to get away from failing states. They also are looking for good doctors.
