Shawn is a very pleasant person. He takes the time to explain things to me in a way that I understand and doesn’t get frustrated when I need further explanation. He doesn’t seem to want to just rush me out the door like some providers do.

Shawn Allen listens to you. Explains what is going on with your health issues in an understandable way. Shawn tells you if there are options for treatment and explains why one might be a better choice than another. I like his approach. I did not feel pressured for time.

I appreciate the ability of the office workers to get an appointment in a very short time. They also went over and beyond what was expected of them checking on a referral for me to see a specialist which had been delayed because of being sent to the wrong department and getting me set up with an appointment at the other office!!

Dr Allen is an excellent pulmonologist! He is very attentive to the patient's needs, listens very carefully to how the patient feels and and offers different treatment options to make the patient as comfortable as possible. He talks to you so that you can understand what the issues are and follows up to see how you are doing. I think he is great and would 100% recommend him to anyone seeking a pulmonologist.
The provider his self was great! Beyond that it is what I witnessed when the nurse was initially treating my wound, he had to use a room that was not one I guess that we should have been in and the doctor that the room was assigned to was very unprofessional!

Keep opinions about COVID to yourself. I am needing to see him due to post COVID effects and after his comments, it made sense why he didn't take my concerns seriously in the beginning until I had to go to the ER twice.

It was not a pleasant visit. He jumped onto what he perceived and discarded the rest. He was unwilling to HEAR what I'm saying and made his own assumptions. He has no idea my full history or what I'm going through, yet made a biased opinion about me anyway and seemed unwilling to listen or have his view challenged. I told him straight up he was 'gaslighting' me and apparently that's a political word 'only' associated with a certain set of political views as a whole which is absolutely not the reality. Women in general have a hard time being heard and unfortunately, I feel he is the same type of male provider that causes women to feel disregarded and undervalued. That doesn't take away from his abilities as a physician in his specialty. He's likely a very good physician with 'typical' people but does not like to be challenged in any way and if I'm being judged incorrectly, I should have a right to challenge that and be heard. We also need more training on rare disease and invisible illnesses. We need more doctors who can help patients with these cases. Compassion goes a long way whereas bias and inaccurate judgements with lack of listening and understanding only cause people to get their defenses up and he could use a conversation on how he could have handled this situation better. He's is slightly arrogant.
This provider needs to learn that 'no' means 'no.'
I have 13 drs., PA's - my primary dr. is great. For the 1st time in 4 yrs. I have a group of drs., PA's, they seem to understand this process. You need to get this computer system running/up to speed!

I felt *Shawn listened to what I had to say; however, it seemed as though his solutions for every possible diagnosis was a Rx drug. There was never a diagnosis but I was offered a prescription for each POSSIBLE diagnosis.
This was my first visit and it went well for people who aren't really acquainted with my health history.
I had to go into the office to make an appointment. I called repeatedly call & put on hold 3 times a day for at least 5 days.
