Philosophy of Care

Over the past 30 years of cardiology practice. I've found that most patients want information presented in a straightforward fashion so they can better understand and control their health care. I believe my job as a physician is to educate patients, advise them about the best options for their situation, and then let them decide which direction feels most comfortable. Letting the patient decide how they want their care tailored to fit their wishes creates a bond of mutual respect and promotes a feeling that we are on the same team.

Primary Health referred me to St Al's Dr Coleman and said they sent history and labs but none was available for Dr Coleman. He spent most of his time getting these from me. I called later and asked them to fax everything they needed for him to review. He said Primary Health system doesn't electronicly talk to each other. That's sad!!

The only recommendation I have is to be more clear on next steps- 2 days have passed and I have t been contacted for scheduling follow up items. Also when checking out, I was informed I鈥檇 see a PA instead of Dr. Coleman for my next visit. It would be nice to have Dr. Coleman share that with me as part of next steps.
