Dr Hodgman is very busy, yet he never seems to be in a rush to get to the next patient. He explains things well and always makes me feel that everything will be ok and we can work through any problems I my have.

This was my 2nd visit with Dr. Hodgman and I've been EXTREMELY impressed with both interactions. He has obviously reviewed my history and lab results, and is looking to make sure that his assessment of my current health needs are confirmed.
Dr Hodgman is knowledgeable, personable & compassionate. I appreciate him working with me to maintain my heart health.
The provider had seen me before, but forgot to read his previous notes about reactions to the tests. He was beginning to order the SAME tests when I said I wouldn't allow them because of the reactions I'd gotten last time. At that point, he called me a "high maintenance patient" and prescribed a tread-mill stress test and EKG. However, he said if the test results weren't "definitive" enough, he would "work around" my objections to the nuclear stress test and CAT scan.

I think my provider is a nice man, but I generally feel he is just doing his job and is not very interested in my whole health. He is quick to examine and quick to leave. He listens to me but I appreciate someone more personable. All in all, I don't see him often so I'll come back, but I haven't heard from his staff yet regarding a procedure he said he would have his staff set up. Makes me wonder what happened.

Go over chart before seeing Patient, to remember what you talked about last time and why you are there. Ordered labs and I had to keep calling over a month to get results, then then ordered labs again after my visit? Should've done that before my visit with the last labs.

I'm 91. All the necessary issues seen to be covered.
The only problem was phone calls before the visit. I was called on Friday about noon. I had my phone off and didn't notice (3 calls) the calls for about an hour. I tried to return the call, but talked to a man doing after hours work. I asked him if there was a problem with my Monday, 1:00 appt., or if it was simply a reminder. He said it was a reminder. On Monday morning I called again and talked o the office and found out that there was a problem with the 1:00 time scheduled and that the doctor was not available in the afternoon. She asked if I could come at 11:45 and I did without problems. So I felt that the man doing after hours calls was not informed of the scheduling problems. All turn out well anyway.

I saw the MA and PA prior to seeing Doctor Hodgeman for the majority of the visit. Doctor Hodgeman only spent 2 minutes in the room. A conversation about my blood pressure issues, possible causes, potential treatments would have been much appreciated and helpful. I understand we are in a crisis care situation but more than two minutes does not seem to be an unreasonable request.
The Doctor and all his support people were very professional and caring. A lot of questions were ask and I felt they all were getting a very good base for my condition. I am very glad that Dr Hodgman accepted me as a patient! Thanks to a great team!
