Overall I feel that the staff and Dr. are very capable of what they do. The problem I have with St. Al;s is the length of time it takes to get an appointment . This time I had to wait 9 weeks for an appointment and I can assuew you the pain continues all that time.

With the clinic: I had a referral from Saint Al's Urgent Care back in [date] that I never received a call to schedule an appointment. My primary physician (Dr Karlsberg) sent in another referral, at my request, which took a considerable amount of time (imo, of course) to receive a call back. I called the facility and only then was it explained to me that I had to be deemed a potential patient prior to them reaching out to me, which was information I was not aware of. Had I known that I had to be a candidate first, my expectations would have been different. As it was, I was frustrated and ready to go back to Saint Lukes Spine Clinic, only because I hadn't received any acknowledgement from the Saint Al's clinic. I called at my wife's insistence, she wasn't going to let it go easily. At which point, it was explained.
I was thoroughly pleased with Dr. Williams. Very impressed.

Being closed on Friday makes it difficult to communicate with you. I have not received responses to atleast 2 questions i have asked since the procedure.I still need clalrification on the details of what Dr. Williams did. I know he numbed 6 nerves, but then need to know what medication or whatever he did to these nerves after it was numb and what the purpose was?

Dr. Williams is a truly wonderful doctor. He was very sincere, compassionate, professional, understanding, and knowledgeable. He spent time explaining my back issues and a treatment program. I never felt rushed. One of the best doctors I've ever met.
Doa Williams was pleasant, friendly and professional. He didn't talk down to me , he accessed my problem and then educated my son and I as to the reason for my problems and then how he could treat me.
I'm hopeful for the first time in years that my back issues can be adequately addressed.
I have had three procedures with this doctor. The first two were minimally intrusive needles in my back for chronic back pain. The last one was intended as the first of two exploratory procedures, followed by another procedure. During the last procedure, I was told to lie face down on a gurney and had a cool substance put on my back by an assistant. Next, a needle was pushed into the area of my back from which my back pain originates. The needle caused extreme pain, most likely by hitting nerves. This was repeated four times with the same effect. When I got up, I was sweating profusely from suppressing screams of pain. I turned to one of the assistants and said, "I can't believe you did this without numbing the area first. This was brutally painful." The individual responded calmly, "You should have said something." This was a ridiculous response, considering the position I was in. My guess is that the substance on my back was intended to numb the area somewhat, but was not nearly addressing the pain when the needle most likely hit nerves. Since I was lying face down, I'm unable to say if the doctor or his assistant practiced their art of injecting needles. I have canceled all future appointments with this doctor.

Dr. Williams was the most comprehensive Dr. I have seen. It just took too long to get in to see him and the lead time for a procedure is too long. I have had this problem for several months and related problems for over a year.
