About

Debra Burleigh Gilbert is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She is originally from Montana, but chose to move to Idaho to be closer to her family. She graduated from nursing school at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington. After more than 10 years of working in Orthopedic Trauma and Mother Baby Care, she completed her Masters of Science in Nursing at Loyola University-New Orleans and a Post Master's Certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner in July 2010, at Gonzaga University.

Philosophy of Care

My favorite part about family practice is getting to know the patient and patient's family through developing a therapeutic relationship. I feel that it is that relationship that guides me to help the patient meet their personal health goals and enables me to care for their whole family.

I feel she has helped me in many areas and has refused me to specialist when needed like for my pelvic fracture and back pain and she sent me to WellSpring for here with my anxiety things are 80% better because she listened and I felt believed thank you.

I am concerned with the treatment for I was given for my ear problem. I am uncomfortable with being given medication that has not done anything and waiting 30 days to see if my ear will clear up. I wonder if the problem with being unable to hear in my right ear could be made worse by waiting 30 days. I already wear hearing aids. Hearing out of one ear Is hard enough, but Is much harder when using hearing aids.

I was disappointed that one of my medications was no longer recommended and taken away from me. I was also disappointed that I could not receive a cortizone shot for a soft tissue wrist injury after hearing from others that they have received shots in the wrist from other doctors for similar injury.
