He helped me by explaining what would happen before and during the EMG. I was also able to ask questions or just converse with him to distract me from the shocks and pokes.

He explained my condition and after giving me a treatment followed up by sending a prescription to my provider to help the condition from getting worse.
A few positive comments about how brave I was while being poked would have gone a long way with me. I was left feeling like I was just a job to do and get it done and move on, an object to poke to see if anything hurt, and a lot did!

Really don’t like traveling to Boise. You should get more of these specialist to travel to Ontario/Fruitland one or two days a week.
I was telling him all the things that was bothering me and he listened to some of them but I truly think he did not listen to all and he wanted me to get all the medical records from when I was in the hospital but I really prefer not to see him anymore

The difficult part was getting to see dr Lyness. My first appt was with another one of your dr and I did not want to go to that one. I was told I could not change Dr. But told them I wanted Dr Lyness!!

If a person has an odd but specific complaint, listen to your patient and believe them. I've always been a zebra with odd findings. If there's a test that can confirm my symptoms, simply order the test and either rule it in or rule it out. Why is it so hard to get help and answers? He seemed arrogant once I passed my initial strength test. Like I would be making up my bizarre symptoms.

I hope I never have to see a neurologist again.. It’s was frightening waiting for test results which should have been reviewed in person. I feel like I have a life altering illness now and feel alone to wonder what’s in store for me until I meet with my primary doctor.

I was dismissed as it all being in my head while I am a patient at the spine center and have a history of injuries. It felt that there was no concern and that he felt I was just making up symptoms while doing a simple neuro check and doing nothing else. Even though my scans were in front of him and they have been read by both a radiologist and another spine doctor, tried insisting my back looks fine. I'll be taking all of my care elsewhere as even as an employee, I've been let down several times by St. Als system.
