This was a follow up appointment to labs taken. Dr. Mason went over the results and explained everything.
I need a hip replacement and spinal surgery. I am sick and tired of being in pain. I understand the problems that can arise from controlled medication and I feel that what you have to go through to get relief is very hard. Also, my initial visit was for what turned out to be depression and anxiety five visits later was dismissed and there was nothing wrong with me! I kept going back to him almost three times a week until he reilazed I was serious! I was dizzy and felt like I was dying. finally He gave me medication and on the first day I was better. I was really angry at first that he wasn't taking me serious enough until I was persistant with my visits.

Not much more to add. Great doctor and staff. Love the portal for access to my personal health information and doctor Mason is always on top of things communicating my updates.
Had filled out the survey data form online, and reception mandated I had to fill it out manually on paper. Apparently this is their reception "norm", but the data was digitally available to the doctor, as expected. This is a waste of time and natural resources.

The appointment centered around a maintenance RX for an opioid. I have a back problem and am expecting surgery in about 2 months. He was concerned about my being on them for a long period of time (at least 3 years). I told him I could not function without them. He asked me to try other methods, which I did. Tylenol does nothing! I am [age] and if addicted to this lesser opioid, so what! I need to move. We agreed to try one [medication] in the AM and [medication] at noon and when I go to bed. Have not told him of the [medication] not working yet. Is he protecting his status with you?

It took 4 attempts to contact to get a prescription. That is ridiculous. How to get their attention? I have no idea. I have delivered printed messages to the office, called in with a 25 minute wait time and send messages via MyChart. It took me calling into the patient line to get any response at all. Does the office staff stop all communication to the doctor or does the doctor not respond? I moved from Primary Health because they kept replacing my doctor with some newbie that was dismissive and could care less. My neighbors thought Dr. Mason at least listened, but now I think he is no better. Why should it takes weeks to get a response from him?

I am a retired orthopedic surgeon and new to this area. I was hoping to find a family physician, who is not only knowledgeable in his specialty, but caring, compassionate and demonstrating a lot of common sense. *Dr. Mason is all of the above and I am glad to be under his care.
