TICKETS FOR ROAD TO X GAMES BLEACHER SEATS GO ON SALE FRIDAY; SAINT ALPHONSUS ANNOUNCED AS CITY OF BOISE’S MAJOR COMMUNITY PARTNER
Tickets for premium bleacher seats to watch the Road to X Games: Boise Park Qualifier action on June 15 and June 16 at Rhodes Skate Park will go on sale Friday, May 11 at 10 a.m. on the City of Boise’s X Games website.
In addition, the City of Boise is proud to announce the addition of Major Community Partner Saint Alphonsus to bring fans this up close and personal action sports experience in the City of Trees.
"Being part of an active community is directly in line with Saint Alphonsus' mission as a compassionate health provider within our community," said Carolyn Holly, Vice President of Communications, Marketing and Community Engagement. "The Road to X Games: Boise Park Qualifier shines a bright light on the best of Boise, and we're thrilled to be a part of it."
In response to popular demand, the City of Boise has acquired expanded bleacher seating which will allow for up to 500 bleacher seats to be sold each day. That almost doubles the number of tickets available for fans to see all the action up close at Rhodes Skate Park.
Tickets for each day of competition will be sold separately.
The tickets for Friday’s elimination rounds are $15 each (plus fees and taxes) and there will be a six ticket limit per customer.
The tickets for Saturday’s qualifying rounds are $20 each (plus fees and taxes) and there will also be a six ticket limit per customer. All tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
EVENT BACKGROUND:
The City of Boise will take center stage Friday, June 15 and Saturday, June 16, 2018, when the world’s top skateboarders and BMX riders converge on Rhodes Skate Park to compete for an invitation to X Games Minneapolis. This is the second year the City of Boise has hosted a Road to X Games: Boise Qualifier.
Please note, the two-day park qualifier event is free and open to the public. There will be standing room only areas around the park to watch all the skateboarding and BMX action on both Friday and Saturday, plus large video screens strategically placed throughout the park. Fans will not need a ticket to attend, but ticket holders will have exclusive access to the bleacher seats on the south side of the competition area on both Friday and Saturday, June 15 and 16.
Last year’s event brought thousands of spectators to Rhodes Skate Park and put Boise on the map for extreme sports.
FESTIVAL AREA AND FAMILY ZONE:
The festival area surrounding Rhodes Skate Park will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday during the elimination and final rounds of competition. This area is free and open to the public.
There will be food trucks, beer and wine available for purchase and additional viewing areas for fans in the festival area.
New this year, the City of Boise has added a Family Fun Zone featuring interactive activities, art projects, and games for all ages. Again, this offering is free and open to the public from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. June 15-16.
In addition, the Downtown Boise Association has provided a stage for live music throughout the two-day Road to X Games: Boise Park Qualifier. Local bands will play live sets during festival hours on Friday and Saturday.
HARLEY HOOLIGAN RACING:
In addition to the Skateboard and BMX Park qualifying events at Rhodes Skate Park, Road to X Games: Boise has added a Harley Hooligan Racing event at CenturyLink arena on June 15, 2018.
While the events hosted by the City of Boise at Rhodes Skate Park are free and open to the public, the Harley Hooligan races Friday evening will require the purchase of a ticket for admission.
