New Emergency Department at Saint Alphonsus Nampa Health Plaza

Community invited to Ribbon Cutting and Open House Sat. March 2nd.

NAMPA, ID. The community is invited to an open house and ribbon-cutting this weekend for the new state of the art Emergency Department at the Saint Alphonsus Nampa Health Plaza located at I-84 and Garrity Blvd. The event will include free health screenings, raffles, refreshments, and children's activities. The 8000 square foot Saint Alphonsus Nampa Health Plaza Emergency Department includes eleven beds, supported by full diagnostic radiology services including CT scanning and laboratory facilities.

“The ribbon cutting and open house give individuals and families in our community the opportunity to celebrate positive growth in our area,” said Karl Keeler, CEO Saint Alphonsus Medical Center – Nampa. “The new Emergency Department reinforces our Mission of being a trusted partner for life. It also underscores our commitment to providing superior quality healthcare close to home and helping our communities grow and thrive.”

Saint Alphonsus Health System is investing $33.5 million in the Nampa community to expand access and enhance medical services. The new Emergency Department is part of a 62,000 square foot expansion that will include the Fredric Birkeland Maternity Center. The 20-bed obstetrics unit is named in honor of Dr. Fred Birkeland. Dr. Birkeland delivered more than five thousand babies in his career as an obstetrician in Canyon County before he passed away in 2007. Additionally, the Saint Alphonsus Nampa Health Plaza will also be home to a new Comprehensive Heart Care Center with ten cardiac care inpatient beds. The Heart Care Center and the Fredric Birkeland Maternity Center are expected to open later this year.

Patient emergency care will continue to be provided at the Saint Alphonsus Medical Center – Nampa Emergency Department located at 1512 12th Avenue Road in Nampa.
