Meet Me Monday – Celebrates One Year Anniversary

Saint Alphonsus community health partnership grows

Boise, ID – Saint Alphonsus celebrates the first anniversary of the popular Meet Me Monday initiative Monday June 10, 2013. Every Monday for one full year walkers, runners and strollers have gathered for a healthy walk, run or stroll through the “greatest hits” of downtown Boise. Meet Me Monday began in 2012 with our community partners in health – Shannon and Rich Harris, owners of Bandanna Running & Walking as a grassroots weekly event encouraging people to get and stay healthy. For the growing number of participants the process remains simple and fun. Check-in begins at 5:15 P.M at the northeast corner of 6th and Main Street in downtown Boise adjacent to the historic Pioneer Building.

As part of the Saint Alphonsus mission to improve the health of our communities this partnership advances the commitment to preventing obesity. The mission of Meet Me Monday is to improve the health of our community by bringing friends and families together while enjoying the beauty of our city. Special guests Monday night include members of the Boise City Council and Boise Police Chief Mike Masterson. Alphonso the Bear will also make a special appearance with a ride in the new Boise Police Department Pink Ribbon Patrol Car.
