Dr. Shae Johnson, DO, has been named Associate Medical Director of the Saint Alphonsus Health Plan (formerly MediGold). Dr. Johnson currently also serves as Medical Director of the Primary Care Medical Group and is an active member of the Saint Alphonsus Medical Group Leadership Council.

He joined Saint Alphonsus in September of 2015 and has served in various leadership roles as a member of the Quality Committee, including serving as Vice-Chair in 2019 and Chair in 2020.

As Associate Medical Director, Dr. Johnson will work collaboratively with Medical Group leadership to promote the benefits of the Saint Alphonsus Health Plan as a highly rated Medicare Advantage Plan.

Prior to joining Saint Alphonsus, Dr. Johnson practiced as a family physician with Asante Physician Partners in Grants Pass, Oregon and was Chief Medical Officer for Siskiyou Community Health Center. In that role, he served as the chief clinical executive for two medical clinics, three school-based health centers, a dental clinic, medical outreach program and a behavioral health program.

He received his Bachelor of Science degree in zoology from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from A.T. Still University of Health Sciences in Kirksville, Montana. He did his residency in family medicine at Utah Valley Family Residency in Provo and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Idaho Academy of Family Physicians.
