Neuro, Surgical, Trauma ICU
- 18 beds treating patients with complex neurological conditions
- Tour Idaho's First and Only Neuro, Surgical, Trauma Unit:
Boise, Idaho:
- Intensive Care Unit (ICU): Includes 22 beds, patients with medical and trauma
- Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU): Includes 10 beds, patients with interventional cardiology
- Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU): Includes 10 beds, patients with open heart, lung and ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation)
- Critical Care Float Pool: Coverage to all three of the above units as well as the Emergency Department
Nampa, Idaho:
- Intensive Care Unit (ICU): Includes 18 beds, patients with respiratory, cath lab, medical
Ontario, Oregon:
- Intensive Care Unit (ICU): Includes 6 beds, patients with general high acuity
Baker City, Oregon:
- Intensive Care Unit (ICU): Includes two beds, patients with DKA, Peds, COPD, respiratory, overdoses
Are you a current RN but don’t have the necessary qualifications to become a CCRN? No problem! Saint Alphonsus has developed Idaho’s only critical care residency program. Offering critical care paid education including hands-on learning philosophies over just a 6-month period.
Our goal is to provide the education, experience and training for our nurses to feel competent when caring and responding to the most critically ill patients.
You will:
- Experience a paid six-month residency at the region’s only Level II Trauma Center
- Become part of a federally recognized apprenticeship and receive a certificate upon completion
What does the program look like?
- 24 weeks, full time commitment (up to 40 hours per week)
- First 20 weeks will be during the day; transition to night for the final 4 weeks
- Two to three week 12-hour clinical shifts a week plus weekly class time
- 2-year commitment to unit after completion of residency
