40th Annual Saint Alphonsus Nampa Open Golf Tournament Teed Off in Support of Meals on Wheels Program

Early mornings aren’t so early when you have a tee time and a golf cart waiting, and on a day like our 40th Annual Nampa Golf Open, our golfers, sponsors and volunteers arrive ready (and early) for a shotgun start and a full day of fun at the beautiful Ridgecrest Golf Club.

On Friday, August 2, more than 300 sponsor partners, local businesses, physicians, community leaders and our colleagues joined us for a day on the green. These community members shared in our tournament’s annual commitment to making a difference in the health and well-being of the local community with 100% of net proceeds going to fund Saint Alphonsus’ Meals on Wheels program, along with other critical initiatives that support our local hungry seniors and homebound.

“My favorite part of this event each year is the overwhelming support throughout the community,” shared Saint Alphonsus Medical Center Nampa President Clint Child. “Our event, focused on Meals on Wheels, has a great cause, and the enthusiasm within the community to be involved is exciting.”

The 37 golf teams made their way around 18 holes cheered on and supported in the summer heat by more than 100 volunteers. Teams made stops at the hospitality tent and clubhouse for savory snacks, cool drinks, a lively raffle and Silent Auction, and a bit of friendly competition.

“The relationships that are built, improved, and shared at this event lead to deeper support by everyone throughout the community,” Child shared.

After a full day on the course, the winners were announced and celebrated back at the clubhouse with Team Coiner consisting of Teresa Coiner, Glen Coiner, Steve Ritchie & Steve Bracewell taking first place.
