Title |
Information Design to Support Decisions in Acute Care: Developing Patient Use Cases and Interviews |
Description |
The primary objective of this project is to implement a user-centered design process, including subject matter expert knowledge elicitation techniques, to establish design guidelines and evaluate design concepts to better organize, prioritize, and present acute care electronic patient information. We expect our work to result in highly effective critical care patient information presentation. In particular, we expect our work to inform: presentation of dynamic patient data, presentation of information generated or interpreted by intelligent systems, and means of identifying and conveying clinical relevance and urgency. |
Notes |
This project will cover two specific research activities conducted over the next two to three years that are part of a larger project to meet overall objectives. These include: 1) the development of patient use cases to serve as context for interactive knowledge elicitation activities including face to face interactive interviews and online surveys, and 2) face to face interactive interviews to provide preliminary information toward establishing clinically meaningful schemes for organizing and prioritizing acute and critical care patient information.
