My apt was cancelled and I was still expected to come in for a blood draw. Then apt was put in as a new customer. I had to fill out “new to St Als” paperwork.
The nursing staff went out of there way to help me, and made sure I was comfortable and they were good at what they do, which was a great comfort.

Introductions and a review of record history along with asking questions beyond how are you feeling would be helpful in the moment especially if patient is already anxious or has been passed around to multiple providers/ nurses.
Dr Peiarson was a good person and explained everything in detail I believe the problem was them calling the wrong place to get the information that they needed.

Had i been diagnosed in California where i lived i would not have gotten the care nd attentiom i did there in st Als. I was treated almost immediately nd my cancer was gone after my treatments . I am eternally grateful to my doctors nd staff that cared for me
He did not sit down this time. I felt like I was a not interesting interruption in his routine. Simple, but it ittitated me.

Can't think of anyone who'd ever think they'd have to see an Oncologist, but it happens when you least expect it. If you have been diagnosed with anything related to cancer then you'd want to see the best of the best Specialist, and that'd be Dr. Pierson and his more than qualified Staff. NJT.

Dr. Petee is a well informed, knowledgeable, and congenial physician that shows an honest concern about your health and discusses with you at length on how to reach a satisfactory result ( if one is possible). Dr. Black, also at your facility, performed foot surgery on me with excellent results.
I have told Dr Pierson that I have only had 2 surgeries in my life. Tonsils out at age 6 and an operation last July.He is very convinced I had an additional surgery or two based on test screening he has done on my back.I'd appreciate if he would review his views and x-rays with me. I've played competitive sports my whole life and have been injured for awhile but never operated on.
He is the best provider I have had. He is very caring and always explains my labs concerning my multiple myeloma.
I highly recommend *Dr. Pierson; he is very friendly and exhibits a high level of expertise. I have misgivings about St. Alphonsus as a business organization. Any blessings which forces employees to undergo a medical procedure is morally bankrupt.
Everyone was doing the best they could it was the first day, they were a little behind, the girls down stair couldn't get my new insurance card to enter in the computer 3 people worked on that! Up stairs the orders for my blood draw was not in so we waited for that to be reordered. But if the computers were working the apt. would have been great as usual!!
I was referred by my primary doctor because of elevation in iron. *Dr. Pierson ordered another blood test & it was normal. He called me himself to let me know.

During the CT scan my heart started racing and palpitating. I was really afraid my heart wasn't going to make it. Haven't had that issue before. It was scary.
VERY INFORMATIVE AND CONCERN
*Dr. Pierson listened carefully to my questions & took the time to answer & discuss issues without making me feel rushed.
Furthermore, the lymphocyte that was out of range range 0-5; mine [value], he said was of no concern. He was unaware of *Dr. Leana Guerin's reference to possible a lymphoproliferative disorder. And just for the record, the first thing he did when entering the room was extend an ungloved hand for a hand shake.
I appreciate the kindness, discretion, courtesy, and wisdom of this staff.
My visit was very prompt. I was in and out. My physician was very caring and concerned.
He spent about 10 min. w/me - first told me he was putting me on oxygen at night - No diagnosis - no info of any kin. I am a nervous wreck.

I feel like I did not get a good plan of care. I got more information from my surgeon about the plan. Did not go over what stage of cancer.
I don't think the lab knew I needed a blood draw after visiting with the doctor; I sat in the waiting room for over an hour and I don't think I was on the list. I had to ask for a reschedule before I was put on the list for lab work.

The oncology group is one of the nicest, most concerned, and informed group I've ever had the pleasure to be involved with. From tbe office staff to the nurses and technicians, and finally to the doctors, everyone truly has my best interest at heart. I am blessed to be a part of their patient list!
